Types of TV Commercials


TV commercials are one of the most effective from advertising all over the world. Many types of companies make great commercials. According to Wikipedia, the first television advertisement was broadcast in the United States at 14:29 on July 1, 1941. Since then, many companies have televised commericals for boosting sales and it is true that commercials help people to get informations. Now TV commercials can be analyzed on the basis of the contents.

Today there are many food commercials on TV. Many companies continue to spend millions on advertising because they often fascinate people and make them want to buy or try their recommendations. Since commercials are televised between programs, people see them as a short intermission. However, in most cases commercials stay viewers heads because information is impressive in short seconds. People, especially Japanese adults, care about calories and they love to pick “healthy foods” so there are many commercials says “less calories” or “healthy” to get people’s attention. Researchers from the University of Liverpool say” More food was eaten after the food advertisements than after the commercials for toys. ”Food commercials are really effective on people’s appetites too.
  
There is another types of commercials called “politic commercials.” Many Japanese political parties make commercials for citizens to tell what they are planning to do if they win the next election. Commercials are part of their election campaign and it is also a good chance for young people who are called the new generation to know about politics and the present condition. Political commercials help people to decide for which parties to vote. They use techniques, for example popular j-pop music to attract people and make them pay much more attention to commercials, because many young people do not even try to watch commercials if they are not interested in them. A pension plan is one of the big problems in Japan, so political parties also make an appeal to citizens that; they care about it and how they take it seriously.

The last type is called ”entertainment commercials.” New movies, dramas, TV programs, new magazines and shops are advertised in commercials. Since TV programs want to have good ratings, companies make commercials to foretell what will happen in the next episode. It is really effective for increasing the number of watchers. There are many TV personalities in commercials. A famous example is commercials DS, a compact video game machine. Some actors are playing DS while talking to themselves. Just sounds of the game and talking can attract an audience’s notice and make people want to know about it more or get one. It is important to show the audience what the highlight of the programs is, new movies and so on.
   From this information, there are many types of TV commercials today. Every company tries to make one which cuts a good figure. Many types of commercials change one after another every few seconds. However, companies pay millions for just a few moments only because they know for sure how much TV commercials give impressions to audiences and help them to get much information about foods, politics and entertainments in short times.
