Since commercials are televised between programs, people see them as a short intermission. However, in most cases commercials stay viewers heads because information is impressive in short seconds. People, especially Japanese adults, care about calories and they love to pick “healthy foods” so there are many commercials says “less calories” or “healthy” to get people’s attention. Researchers from the University of Liverpool say” More food was eaten after the food advertisements than after the commercials for toys. ”Food commercials are really effective on people’s appetites too.

2) RESPONDING TO THE PLOT
a) If you were a character in this story, what would you have done differently?
b) If you were the author, what would you change in the book?
c) Choose a quotation from a character in the book, include the page number and describe the situation in which the character makes the remark. Explain your reason for choosing it.
If I were the character, which is Mitch, I would do same thing for morrie. I mean I go his house every Tuesday because Mitch used to take Morris’s class on Tuesday and morrie said that we were Tuesday people. And since morrie love to talk, Mitch was one of the religions. I think Mitch did the best for morrie however, not enough for Jenny who is his girl friend. At the first, he didn’t give enough love to her because his work was too busy and he was always be pushed for time. Add to this, he seems that he was not good at love stuff. So if I were Mitch, I think about Jenny more than work and try not to make her sad or feel lonely. So I would have done this part differently. Also if I were the author of this book, I changed the last chapter and make it longer because in this book the author mainly wrote about Morris’s lesson not much about after he dead. I think morrie wanted to tell people about how to live and also he wanted them to understand his lesson and use these for people’s life so I think the author should write about what Morris’s lesson changed his life differently after the Morris’s death.
There is the part goes like this ‘Now. Watch what I do. He inhales, and then began his number count in a soft, wobbly voice. “One-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight-nine-ten…. Eighteen” He stopped, gasping for air. “When the doctor first asked me to do this, I could reach twenty-three. Now it’s eighteen” he closed his eyes, shook his head. “My tan is almost empty.”(P37). When Mitch came to see Morrie at the First time, he said he was not sure if he could came back to see him again because his house is too far away from Morris’s house to visit. Morrie tried to tell Mitch that he would no longer to live without using negative words that are in these quotations. Morrie showed this experiment to him. From these quotations I can tell that Morrie really wanted to talk to Mitch more so he tough it was easier to tell Mitch that he’s life was getting shorter. Morrie said really good words in this story, however I pick this one because their show more likes humanity of Morris’s part.
2) ANALYZING 7 LITERARY TERMS (each term in 2-3 sentences)
1. Setting: Present. In Michigan
2. Point of view: a story is told from First person.
3. Conflict: Morrie versus ALS
4. Climax: Morrie finally died however he told everything he wanted to Mitch and he also had a great time to say people good bye.
5. Symbol; Love
6. Irony: When Mitch didn’t go NY for his job but went to Morris’s house. I though he was going to lose his job. But Jenny told his company stuff about Morrie. So they understand him and decided not to fire.
7. Theme: This story tells us that lean not only from the textbook but also from what people saying. Add to this, love always win anytime if you really wish.
3) REFLECTING ON THE STORY (2 Paragraphs)
This story was really interesting but I was really shocked by ALS because Morrie was really nice person and he tried hard to tell people about life and how to live. However his sick were getting worst and worst. Finally he couldn’t even move his hands to take a note. Mitch’s life was much different from mine. He is a BUSY MAN like he can’t have an enough time to relax or talk to his girl friend. Environment is different too. I can make a time easily without any sacrifice like he. I have a school but family is much more important than school so if somebody in my family were sick, I can be absence school. If I made this story into a film, I think I put more other students in this story. I know that Mitch was his favorite student but I think not only Mitch but also there were some other his favorite students too. Since Mitch has friends, I want him to contact his friends and add more characters in film because If this story come to the film, it is going to be only a few people in there. Since this book is non-fiction, the author wants to tell people about Morrie who were the best teacher and friend of his life. He premised with Morrie to write this book so I think it inspired him to write this book. I really agree what Morrie said in this book. He said that love always win and people need love to live. I think same too. People never are able to live by one. They always need to someone to love or share happy with. So I leaned how much important to love people from this story. I haven’t really deeply thought about family, money, emotions, and so on. I had no chance to think about these, so I kind haven’t had my own ideas about these so I can not say that I changed my ideas after reading however I learned many new things from Morris’s lessons. Add to this, I already told but again, I though Mitch was going to lose his job because he skip his working and went to see Morrie. But thanks for Jenny; he didn’t lose his job.

1/2 new year's party
today i had a family new year's dinner at my house!
since my grand parents live near my house
it seems easy to get together.
it is true that i see them once a week
but no chance to get together and hanin dinner like that
so we have family dinner some times!
and my oldest brother live far from house too
we always talk some kinda jokin
well serious talk too but not for new year's dinnder you know
my mom cooked many stuffs!

time past so quick!just 3days this year
i cant believe that i were high school student till this spring.

went to shibuya to do year end party wiz class of306 which was my high school class
there were many people who i hadnt seen long time
many ppl change a lot to 'univ students'lol
1st, we went to izakaya then went to another izakaya again lol
coz just 2hours was not enough for us to talk!
HR306 was nice class we were very friendly class
i were member of this class just one term coz i went to america
but everytime we have party like this,
ppl ask me to come :)
im so happy about it :)

all nitght girlz party @odaiba today!
we do this every year wiz about 15ppl but this year were about half numbers of the last time
we rent odaiba grand pacific hotel and did party all night!

we talk a lot in school days but we never run out of wat we talk
i think because we are girl.lol
girlz always wanna talk about boys lol

12/24 christmas eve
went to northin home to see my bf's gramna
she is now about 80years old and spening her life in northin home
i made a bear for christmas present!
not pretty one lol coz im not good at makin this
she dose talk little bit like
sometimes she react by sayin 'yes' or shekin her head
i love old ppl
i really love takin care of old ppl
so i took some qualification this summer
but through studyin about it, i learned how much difficult to take care of ppl
i was kinda shocked by studyin it coz i wanted to work at this kinda work.
well
by the way
Santa and many nurses were singin christmas songs and walking room to room
so we took a pic wiz santa and hiw granma! ;)
i think satna make me smile always
so i hope same for his granma too!
working at northin home is really hard but challenging and wonderful job.
old ppl know life much more than us coz they live longer
i think we can learn many things throught talkin to them
it's really sad when ppl get lazy to take care of their parents or relatives.
many ppl are in this situation
but not for her!we usually celebrate christmas together who you love
so im very happy that i can spent christmas eve wiz his granma!

12/23 great christmas
this year i spent the most wounderful and the greatest christmas of my life
christmas was not so big deal for me before
just having party night with my friends
i used to spend wiz my family
but wizout notice,
i become kinda feelin like 'embarrassed' to be wiz family on christmas by gettin old and old
no reason why
and Santa stop coming to my house
however,i really had a grest time wiz my bf this year
i was so tensed up coz i had no confidence if he likes my prestnt or not
but everythin was goin oky ;)
just great and lovely christmas of 08!
